Asymmetric Breasts
It’s widely accepted that few women on the planet can boast a pair of identically sized breasts. In fact, slight asymmetry is considered the norm. However, while this anatomical nuance is of little concern to the majority of women, there are some for whom the size difference is so pronounced that it impacts heavily on their body image and can seriously affect their self-esteem. The term ‘Asymmetric Breasts’ usually refers to breasts that differ in size by at least one cup size, which may become noticeable during puberty as the breast tissue starts to develop. Subsequently, as the years progress, the asymmetry may become more obvious to the point were it is unflattering and even embarrassing for a woman. However, asymmetric breasts can be easily rectified thanks to the latest advances in cosmetic surgery, where the breasts can be corrected by either enlarging the smaller one with implants or reducing the larger one.

i am 18 about 3 years ago i had a baby but my breast where abnormal i did not think of it then as i thought it was due to pregnancy. one of my breasts hang slightly lower then the other an is slightly bigger it really brings my self esteem down as it does not make me feel like a teenager an my confidence has hit rock bottem because of this i live with my bf an i find it really hard to be naked in front of him can any one help me x
I am 47 and my boobs just keep geting bigger but the left one to me seems huge compared to the right one. I bought a new bra in a G cup and the right side just deson't fill it at all whereas the left is a perfect fit. I wish I could afford to have my left one reduced as I'm so self concious about it and now I've noticed I can see the difference when I wear ordinary t-shirts. Also V necked tops don't wear correct ly as my larger boob pulls them across to one side meaning the V is not at my cleavage. If I go on a diet I never lose any weight off my breasts and I'm just worried that as I reach the menopause they are just gonna expand even more.
reading all of these comment gives me a bit of comfort that im not the only one, my right side is a E cup my left is a A cup so is so noticible. i have 3 children and would love to take them swimming be possitive mum and out going for them but i cant find the confidence to do so i feel everyone is looking at me, i wear a chicken fillet in my left side to help but there still such a size difference, and this cant do done to go swimming, i cant afford to have it done and after reading the comments dont think the doctor will do anything, I know if i had it sorted not only mine but m,y children life would be so different.
I'm 16 and since I was 14 I have had a really noticable size difference in my breasts and it doesn't help my body confidence, boyfriends are the hardest because I always feel they will reject me, I don't want to have surgury and read up somewhere that you can do certain excercises which will help increase the muscles in your chest, is this true and what sort of things do you have to do? I really would like to sort it out so in the summer I can wear a bikini and feel confident, as I have also lost quite a bit of weight and am starting to feel really good it's just my chest that can make me quite upset sometimes.
Hi Amber, my name's Sarah and I'm also 16. I have exactly the same problem as you, since I was 13/14 my breasts have been different sizes with my left being over a cup size smaller. I have lost 2 stone over the past few months and like you, I feel its my breasts that are letting me down, and I feel very self concious about it, I often feel I am being looked at when I go out in a lower cut top... I can sympathise with you as I know what it feels like! I hope all is well in the future anyway. :)
hi :) i also have the same problem, my right breast is alot bigger than me left, it always makes me upset. i am 15 and have been with my boyfriend for 2 years. he's lovely and doesnt seem to care, but im worried he is put off me and is embarrased for me. i hate it! x
last year my breast got really sore then after a few months i noticed the one of them was larger than the other my gp sent me 2 the hospital and they said that it was fluid and every time of the month they seam 2 get heavy why is this
hi, i am 19 years old and my right breast is huge compared to my left. my left is an a cup where as my right is a b/c cup. its frustrating... because i find myself always wearing baggy tops just to avoid people noticing that theyre odd. i have been to the docters... and they said the waitin list would be long and if they refered me, i would most likly be rejected. i have also gone to a cosmetic surgery but it was way to expensive. what should i do?...
I had this problem, but dont just be negative - I got rejected & ended up getting a loan to pay for my operation private - I was told by the doc that if i had gone to them 12months before i did then the nhs would have funded the corrective surgery but they had since ''tightend the budget! (although they like to call it ''cosmetic'' surgery) when there is such a diffrence in size its not possible to get a comfortable bra - Some gp's are not very sensitive to the situation & just think we are all after a free boob job! After i had my op within about 6months i heard of 2 other people within my nhs area that had the operation funded...so you might be one of the lucky ones? I would say keep trying, if one doc will not help then go to another? change surgery? i was 18 when i had my op & now at 25 i wouldnt change it for nothing...but i have had to pay the £5000 loan back & interest! well worth the money though :0) good luck
hi am 32 and my right boob is a acup and my left boob is a b/c cup.i dont feel normal and its affecting me so bad i have brought bras with air bags in them, padded bras have got chicken fillets aswell but thay dont do anythink 4 my small boob thay just make my left boob look really big, also wont let my partner touch my boobs when in bed 2gether or let him see me nacked i just look horrible so what would he think.am 2 scared 2 go 2 my doctor or tell anybody about this.just want 2 be normal.....
Hi I'm 32 also, and have had uneven breasts since i was 16.... My right breast is an a cup and the left an e ... so you may imagine it's fairly noticable!! If you don't want to have surgery, you should ask your GP to refer to your local breast care centre at the hospital, where they generally deal with mastectomy patients but also with people like us!! I have had a breast prosthesis for years which i wear inside my bra, and if you have the right one, and the right sort of bra no-one knows the difference!! It really helps with your confidence....and then you can decide if you want to do something a bit more drastic later on.
Hi im 19 and my right breast is notably smaller than the left. It’s made me so self conscious, I have to pad my bra to equal them out and where my bra during sex. But over this last year the skins started to sag and stretch down. I just really need some help and advice please.
Hi there i had exactly the same problem... i had a condtion called Asymmetrical tulip breasts. I have had the surgeon of a mastopexy, uplift and reshape. I still need another operation to sort the 3 cup size difference out by either having implant or one reducing. However i have had many complications. The surgery is very complex and i have been very ill with an infection and bleeding. I had this done in january...Everything was going so well until i developed an infection which now i am back to where i started.. Where the infection was caused big scar tissue which is still unhealed. The aftermath of this now is to see if they can clear the scaring up.I am glad i have them sorted but don't do what i did. If you have it done make sure you follow up the pros and cons.I knew some complications that could occur but didn't realise this was one of them and consquently i have taking lots of time off university and my body image is horrible. God willing somebody will be able to sort this mess out for me. If you have any questions i am happy to write back.
hi my name is rachel im 20 and im so sick of not letting my fiance who iv been with for three years not touch or see my top half naked i try and wear nice tops but my small boob doest hold the top in place also i just feel like everyone is looking at me, not only that my big boob hurts so much more when im on my period, i want to go to the docs but i dont want to have to show someone else my rediculouse boobs. i cant afford to have it done privatly dont know what to do ??? :(
i have been to the docs to see if i can get my boobs sorted out. i have a boob that droops on the left side and its a b cup my right side is a c cup the doctors have asked the execeptional circumstaces council to see if i could have it on the nhs twice i have been refused 3 years ago and this month i went to see the doctor again to be told there was absolutly nothing could be done for me. i have a painful breast as when wearing a bra it dont sit in it. it falls out of the bottom or falls out of the cup. i cant afford to pay for it privatly i feel like an old lady having to keep covered up as it is noticeable.im now stuck as where to turn doctor cant help me at all but have not even seen a surgoen for them to decide just a bunch of people deciding whether or not i should they have not even spoke to me at all or seen me .
