Conditions
Cystocele
A cystocele is a fallen bladder, which occurs when the wall between a woman’s bladder and her vagina is torn by childbirth, resulting in the bladder bulging or dropping towards the vagina. Cases range from mild to severe and treatment usually depends on the severity of the condition. A mild cystocele, which may be noticed by a physician or nurse, but hasn’t bothered the patient, doesn’t necessarily require treatment. However, in cases of moderate and severe prolapse, symptoms can be bothersome and can lead to women experiencing difficulties emptying their bladder, as well as feeling of pressure in the pelvis and vagina, especially when bearing down. This can lead to repeated bladder infections, urinary incontinence and pain during sex. Prevention is often better than cure, and the chances of a prolapse occurring can be reduced by doing regular pelvic floor exercises, treating and preventing constipation, avoiding too much weight gain, and ensuring that the man in your life does all the heavy lifting!

I am 51 years old and 22 years ago had a very difficult forceps delivery. I did the usual pelvic floor exercises and went back to work (as a dance teacher) not long afterwards I had a prolapse but was advised by the gynaecologist not to have an operation until I was ready to give up dancing as it may not hold if I were to return to that job! I am still dancing but its extremely uncomfortable as the prolapse has got worse - more consultation said hysterectomy & repair but I have researched various treatments and it seems to be more developed in the States than here - generally saying hysterectomy may not be the answers.Where can I go in the uk to get the BEST advice? I've read about 'mini-sling' but am very confused. PLEASE HELP!
My vagina keeps weeping, and its like its weeping with water, when i have a look or whipe, its just clear like water, it doesnt smell or anything, but its just worried me a bit, anybody know what this is? ive had no kids and i am 14
Have you had an discharge from your vagina before? If not, then this sounds like the normal discharge women have every day after they go through puberty. Unless its different from the type of discharge you usually, get you sound completely fine, but try talking to your mum or school nurse if you're worried or need more advice :)

when i cough or sneeze i wet myself and it feels as though something comes down my vagina its very painfull and im very worried please help me.Not sure if i have a prolapse.
Hey, I have noticed that I don't wee throught the normal hole. I wee theought the vagina. It doesn't feel painful at all, but as I am 14 I am worried about not being able to have children and whether it would hurt considerably more during sex later on in life. Thanks!
You are probably confusing your clitoris with your urethra (wee Hole). It is easy to confuse them - trust me - I'm a Midwife and have seen many a medical person try to put a urinary catheter into a clitoris by mistake!! The clitoris is the nubby bit at the top, just below where the lips of the vagina come together. Your urethra is lower down - about 1 cm below this and slightly inside the vagina at the top of the actual opening, so it can seem as though you are peeing from your vagina, when it is really coming from the right place all along. You could try taking a mirror with you into an empty bath to see what happens when you pee. Sitting down and leaning back against the end of the bath, you can use your fingers to gently part the labia (lips) as you are peeing, you will be able to see where it is coming from more clearly! Hope this helps and don't worry - I'm sure your anatomy is totally normal!
Do you have to have your coil removed before a posterior repair?
i would like to ask how long do you have to stay in hospital after a prolapse bladder operation thanks .
I stayed in for 2 nights after my surgery. I think 2 or 3 is normal. Then I stayed in bed at home for another weekk.
Up to 6 days x
im 37 years old have three children all natually, had to have a hystorectomy 4 years ago as last child was heavy for my frame and had a prolapsed uterus, now im wondering if my bladders prolapsed as there dont seem alot of room up there and i have stress incontinence, what do you think!!!
Im only 16 and havent had a baby but about a month ago i had a water infection but was on holiday at the time so didnt bother going for any tablets and just drank lots of water. It seemed to go away but now i find that a lot of the time i feel like i need to go to the toilet when ive just been and also during sex it can be painful and is quite embarrasing when i have to dash off to the toilet in the middle. I also go to the toilet around 8 times a day instead of 2 or 3, but it isnt gradual i just get the urge and im so desperate. People at work often see me crossing my legs dancing about as i work outside on a yard so there isnt a loo. Anyone got the same or any answers please??
Hallo yes l have even a worse situation. I am 42 years and have had this problem since 2005. I can not hold any urine even a teaspoon in my bladder. I am always in pain that is just under my naval, on my back. The pain under my naval is as severe as labour pains. I have to wear pumpers to avoid emberassment of going to toilet regurlary and wetting my pants. At night l go to the toilet every hour and in the day almost the same. This have killed my sexual libido and l have lost my self esteem. Please help someone. l know the answer lies somewhere in the public. Thank you!!!
heya im 19 but have been having the same problems as you since i was 16 i used the best part of the first 6 months convincing myself it was in my head and were constantly doin pelvic floor exercises however i realised that i was constantly doing them anyway just to last untill i could run to a toilet..i could leave the loo and within 10 mins my bladder feels heavier and i can only concentrate on not wetting myself bofore embarrasingly going back to the toliet for the what feels like 100 times in an hour. my periods hurt more and sex is a nightmere it is very painfull and i too have to stop and go to the toilet therefore have never climaxed. Alcohol is also a problem as when i finally get the courage 2 enjoy leavin the house and seeing my friends i am having to go to the toilet EVEN more frequently resulting in missin most of the night i also find that dancing or anyh mild form of exercise is now out of the question..i dont no if it is linked but i often get a stifness on my lower right stomach that when touched i get a loud crumbling noise and pain. sorry is so long but if any fellow suffers have any tips or know whats wrong please speak up

i have been diagnosed with a prolapsed bladder. it feels like i am walking round at times with a tampax hanging out. had this about 1yr.i seemto remember the doctor saying it could be corrected in the doctors surgery or an operation at hospital. can you tell me what both procedures will entail.
A prolapse can be corrected by having a pessary (ring) put in the vagina. It will need to be changed every 4 to 6 months. It can also be corrected by an operation. There are various operations depending on how bad the prolapse is.
can anyone help, im 34 weeks pregnant and have been diagnosed with a prolapsed bladder, this is really worrying me as i have to give birth yet and im wondering wheteher this will make things worse for me! do you think i should opt for a c sect so it does not cause any more problems, please let me know if youve has the same thing and whether i can give birth natually?
I had something similar when I was pregnant with my fourth child. I had him naturally and all was absolutely fine, although I have to admit my condition did deteriorate afterwards and I have subsequently had it operated upon. I do think my condition would have deteriorated anyway - a mixture of age (I was 46 when I had him) and general wear and tear. I would go that route again and have him naturally anyway. Wear and tear is, unfortunately, a symptom of motherhood. The comforting thing is that it is generally very easy to be put back together again.
i had my son 11 mths ago by natural birth and i now have a baladder prolapse which was caused by childbirth so if you are worried yours will get worse i suggest you have a c-section simply because mine is quite serve and thats just from one child but i plan to have more if i can .
