Erectile Dysfunction
As any glance at your email spam filter will tell you, erectile dysfunction is big business (as is money laundering for deposed Nigerian Princes). A common complaint that will affect many men in their lives, it can be just a one-off occurrence, but for some the problem is long-term. Although you may have a normal sex drive, sufferers fail to achieve or maintain an erection of the penis to enable sex to take place. This can be embarrassing for both you and your partner, leading to plaintive mutterings of ‘but I really do want to do it’. Stress, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking and other conditions such as Peyronie’s disease or a tight foreskin may all be contributing causes, but treatments are available – not through your email inbox – but instead through your GP.
If you’re suffering from any of the conditions featured on this site and want to apply for an onscreen consultation with one of the EB team then you can find more details here >>

I'm 18 years old non-smoker and occasional drinker and I can only get half erect most of the time. I have only had sex a few times with my 2 ex girlfriends because of this.I haven't always had this problem, it has only been the past few years. I went to my GP but he said I was to young to suffer with ED and he didn't feel it was necessary to check my penis. This has made me less confident and I feel like I am not normal. I would be thankful for any help.

My partner has never been able to get an erection, we have been together ten years, it gets semi erect in the morning when he needs to pee, but apart from that nothing, he is not at all interested in sex like alot of men, and he hates talking about it. He is fifty drinkd in moderation and stopped smoking six years ago.
Hi I'm 31 & i have a problem sustaining an erection during sex & also when i do sustain one i can't reach an orgasam i've been with my parner a few months now & its becoming a problem for her aswell. Sometimes before sex i get nervous which i know wont help. I have had this problem before with new partners but after a few weeks or so of trying I'm normally okay. Any help would be gratful thank you.
Hi, Im concerned about my husbands erections as they are not always very strong & then when I touch him there he goes softer(which is quite hurtful to me as I think maybe he doesnt fancy me), he doesnt last long & he flops near enough straight away. He is 46yrs old but this has been going on for a few years now & when I try mention it he gets very defensive, so I think he thinks this is normal but I dont. He does smoke, about 10/15 a day. He does drink but not much, only wkends & only 4/6 pints. He doesnt seem to be that bothered about having sex either, he doesnt seem to get the 'urge' like other men do. He had 'the snip' before we were met, so it was probably about 15/16 yrs ago but had it reversed about 6/7 yrs ago for us to have a baby but it was unsuccessful. Do you think any of the things Ive told you are the reason. Then I may be able to bring the subject up again with him & tell him the possible problems. Please help!! Many thanks
