Conditions
Haemorrhoids
“The grapes of wrath” is both a classic John Steinbeck novel and a name for haemorrhoids, which can be an uncomfortable and often painful condition. Otherwise known as piles, this is when blood vessels in and around the anus become swollen and inflamed, which is both an inconvenient and embarrassing location on the body to be affected. It is, however, a very common condition. Around 50% of people experience the condition at some time in their life, with pregnant women and the elderly most susceptible. Treatment will depend on the severity of the piles, but the symptoms may often disappear on their own after a few days.

I have had a small lump on my anul cannal for a few weeks now. I have been using anusol morning and night which is recomended. it has stopped the pain but hasnt removed the lump. What can i do to get rid of the lump that has been left? Or is the lump still the haemorrhoid?
Hi. I have had an anal fissure for over a year..I kinda hoped it would go on it's own. The tear has eventually healed recently but I have been left with a skin tag/sentinel pile. I went to the g.p and waited for an hour for her to have a 'look' which lasted about 10 seconds. She basically said yes it's a skin tag, leave it alone. I asked if it would ever go and she said it may get smaller but surgery may damage the muscle for something that is meerly cosmetic. Well, I am really upset as this make me so self conscious.. I know it's only my other half 'goin down there' but it looks like somehting is hanging off my ass!! When I have kids I am also going to be very self conscious and am really annoyed now!! Is there any options? I don't know whether to make an appointment with another doctor because she seemed no help at all! She didn't even check to see if the tear had healed. Thanks :-)

I'm 18 & iv had piles for about 5 years. I have no idea how I got them. I only do a number 2 about twice a week and wen I do it's either constipation or it just really runs. They really hurt and I went to my gp about 2 years ago and he gave me cream which did nothing at all. I don't know what to do :(

hi am only 14 but i think i might have them it is so imbarrasing and i cant find the corage to go and consult my doctor cause they are all new to me if any of u know what i should do plzz write back !!!
Not sure if its piles or not. I've had, what I assume to be, irritable bowel syndrome since beginning treatment for panic disorder two and a half years ago. My motions change from diarrhea to constipation frequently. At worst the diarrhea can be sudden and urgent and has been known to just leak out suddenly. Now and again I have bright red blood on the toilet paper when I wipe. Its not painful and I am not aware of any actual piles.
I've had piles for about 4 years now and it's very embarrassing when sex occur. I'm homosexual and as you can imagine, it's not really a good thing to have. It's alseo very uncomfortable when I need to go to the toilet and sometimes does bleed. I would like to know if there's any way to get it removed. I know it's very common on people, but having it doesn't feel like. Hope you can help me and give me some advice. Thanks
