Conditions

Lichen Aureus

Lichen Aureus

This is a chronic skin condition that results in yellowish or golden patches of pigmentation forming on the limbs. Although most common in children and young adults, it can strike at any age, and can occasionally spread beyond the limbs to the trunk of the body. Quite often the patches do not display any additional symptoms, but occasionally they can itch or cause discomfort. The symptoms can be treated by administering steroid creams to the affected area, but as the condition is benign, the risks associated with steroid use outweigh the potential benefits. Some success has been reported with ultraviolet light treatment, but normally the condition is left untreated.

Planus can u please help as i would be getting married soon n my partner is unaware of my condition n m worried…please suggest some remedy thanx.

I'm not sure if this is what i have on my legs, i have sort of red-yellowish blotches but they don't itch or anything they're just there like bruises but not bruises then they fade slightly or dissapear and a new one appears

i have had lichen sclerosus for about 1yr its started inbetween my legs now its just in side my vigina

Ive suffered with lichen planus for several years on my legs but for the passed year my face has now started to swell up at random times especially my eyes which close up and fluid fills the underneaths of the eyes. Ive been told this is due to scratching the lichen on my legs but I know i havent scratched lately and they are not filled with fluid like they normally are. I end up in casualty on a steroid drip then a course of steriod pills, it also swells my neck up and a rash appears on my neck. Any clues??? John 61

have lichen planus on my shoulders and under my arms its extremely severe.

desparate for treatment,miracle,anything.

if there is any help out there please Help! im miserable.

thank you

hi i am a 25 year old female, and have recently had problems down below, i first thought it was thrush, ichy, inflamed vigina, and got treated for this but it is still there but iv noticed it just on and above the hood of the clitoris.the skin is starting to crack and become quite painfull, there has always been a few white little bumps above the hood of the clitoris that i always thought was normal, but after reading up all the symptoms point to Lichen Scelerosus,i dont see anything on your website about this, and was just wondering if you have any information about this condition from a really worried and embarresed women

I've recentley noticed brown like marks mostly on my arms and legs they vary in size and seem to be multipling i've noticed a few on my face my dr thinks its a fungal infection and prescibed cream but i read on internet that it could be a side effect of Pregabilin (lyrcia) i have been on this medication for 1 year now i have been left with nerve damage after donating a kidney to my husband i am worried that this is going to increase and multiply worse

hello
ive suffered from lichen planus on my legs for 4 years, it originally started on my wristst then lower legs and I have tried steroid creams , but they havn't worked .
i have also tried many different medications which did relieve the itch for a short time ,but it soon came when I damaged the shin. The itch is so intense you have to scratch it. Can you suggest a different therapy for this. I am also insulin dependant diabetic, with severe mussle pain. I am female and 50.

Hi I think I have this skin condition in my armpits, since being pregant with my son two years ago, it has gradually got worse and looks like slightly raised golden brown moles as in the main picture above. It doesnt hurt but can be a bit sore when I shave, it is rather embarrasing though, should I go to my doctor and do you think it is this condition?
