Conditions

Milia Eyes

Milia Eyes

Milia are small white spots that usually appear around the eyes and eyelids. They are benign cysts that are filled with a protein called keratin, and whilst they are no cause for concern, some people do find them affecting their appearance, and so seek to get them removed. An exfoliating facial scrub can be used to remove smaller cysts, though a trip to the doctor in always advised. They are nothing to be worried about and are normally left untreated unless they are having a debilitating affect on the sufferer.

I have small ones around my eyes. they're not painful, but annoying to look at. I have gotten them on my face before too--I simply used a sterilized needle and lightly stuck it. A gently squeeze and the cyst will pop right out. They're very annoying though.

i have them on my eye lids and my cheeks, i went to my doctor and he said just pop them with a sterile needle, not the best option as its very sore and quite dangerous when you have 1 eye closed, are there any creams for them? also are they hereditary, as my mum and sister have them also.

I have them on my cheeks and on large one on my left eyelid. About four years ago i went to a beautician and payed approximately £60 for all of them to be popped. This left me with a pizza face. My skin was blotchy and pierced afterwards and having so many removed from around my eyes was painful, making me feel quite sick. The spots came back quite quickly once my skin had healed and bigger than ever in some places. So it is not advised, especially around the eyes.
