Conditions

Neuroma

A neuroma is caused by the enlargement of nerve tissue often because of compression or irritation of the nerve. They are not normally a cause for concern, and are easy to spot as they cause a lump or swelling that can be moved side to side, but not up or down. Unless they are causing pain or discomfort, the normal course of action is to leave them, but if they are causing problems then they can be surgically removed, so if you have any concerns, go and see your GP.

I have a Vestibular Schwannoma/Acoustic Neuroma, & am having difficulty deciding which course of action to take. So far I've been unable to find out if there's a comprehensive countrywide list of people with this condition, & the results of any action taken by them. This would help me greatly with my decision. Are you able to help me with this information? I'm a member of BANA, but they can only use the information they are given, & only if people join.
