Peyronie’s Disease
In 1994, when Paula Jones filed a sexual harassment suit against the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, she described a distinct curvature of his erect penis, which she cited as a distinguishing feature of his genitals that would prove her accusation. What became known (in some quarters) as the ‘Clinton Kink’ was believed by many experts to have been caused by the condition known as Peyronie’s disease, which affects one in 100 men – though few have heard of it. Usually appearing in middle age (although, younger and older men can also develop it), a plaque, or hard lump, forms on the upper or lower side of the penis in the layers containing erectile tissue, causing it to bend. Whilst many penises have a natural curve they don’t always point towards Peyronie’s disease which in its worst cases will see an afflicted penis bend almost horizontally to the side making urination difficult and sex impossible. However, recently treatment has come on leaps and bounds and subsequently various surgical procedures, although grueling, can usually put things back on the straight and narrow but it might, rather distressingly, involve surrendering a centimetre or two. The two most common procedures are Nesbitt’s procedure or a Lue procedure and both could potentially offer some salvation. A Nesbitt procedure removes tissue from the unaffected side of the penis therefore balancing things out when sewn back up but this often involves a slight loss in length. The Lue procedure actually cuts into the Peyronie’s plaque with the aim to lengthen the curved side through sewing in a vein. Whilst there is less chance of losing length this way the risk of impotence is far greater.

Hi I have peyronie`s which I have had for 15 months.Its not so bad as it bends towards my stomach 80% of the way to the end. My question is : At 54 years of age I am losing my erection quite often during penetration .Is this my age or a sympton of the desease? Can I use Viagra safely with the desease. My partner is sympathetic and tells me not to worry ,so its not a huge issue ,but it is starting to play on my mind.
hello I'm 24year old man, ever since i can remember I've had a bend in my penis,when I'm erect the shaft of the penis is straight but the helmet points at an angle…i even see veins highly visible on outer layer of my penis, Sometimes,while urinating ,it goes in completely other dirction.My penis is thin and 4"-5" inch . I even think it may be a problem in sex and might be cancer also.please can u help i find it really embarrassing and is there away it can be straighten

hi, my penis bends to the left and its only when its aroused also i think that am also impotent, i have sex but i dnt feel comfortable with it. its a good lenth and size its just that there is a 40 degree bend to the left which is the problem. please can you help coz i want to get that sorted its really affecting me and my confidence. hello I'm 26 year old man, ever since i can remember I've had a bend in my penis,when I'm erect the shaft of the penis is straight but the helmet points at an angle...the best way i can describe it is straighten your finger out and at the tip, us your other hand and push the dip down keeping the finger straight..please can u help i find it really embarrassing and is there away it can be straighten.
hi, i am 17 and i have just recently found a hard lump just below the tip of my penis. It is only visable when erect.. Should i worry about this?.. Should i visit my gp?.
