Problem Piercings
People have been piercing their bodies for thousands of years, but whilst modern day teenagers are more likely to be doing it to make a fashion statement than to intimidate their enemies, the potential health problems are much the same. Most piercing, if carried out in a safe and surgical environment, shouldn’t pose any health problems, but there are several infections, including Hepatitis B & C that can be passed by use of dirty instruments. You can also develop bacterial infections around the piercing, resulting in air or pus filled cysts that can develop into much more serious problems. Piercing carried out in the genitals should be looked after with increased care, as infections down here can inhibit sexual intercourse and urination – which is quite a price to pay for an piercing that (hopefully) most people won’t see…

Hello! I got my bellybutton pierced about 3 years ago and it's never been infected as such, but there's always been a purplish tinge at the top of the piercing. And today some red tissue/flesh appeared coming out of the top of the piercing a little bit. It wasn't red of bleeding or anything, just looked like some red gooey tissue... As if it was my insides coming out of the piercing a little bit. Any suggestions??

Heya, erm, i got my belly piereced when i was 13 and it took me about 6 months to heal but after that i changed my bar to a white gold bar and now it has completly healed with no like purple'ish lump at the top. You just got to carry on washing it with saltwater for roughly a month and then it should be alright. :)
how far can you go stretching your ear before its unable to go down sizes?
It will almost always go down sizes but the general size for not going back to normal is around 16mm, depends on each person though, certain people can go up to twenty and end up with a 3 or 4 after a few weeks, others will go to ten and wont go down at all, i have a 36mm, that has no hope lol
i got my scrotum pierced and ever since then when i ejaculate its so much more not that this is a problem but its kinda freakish lol i mean its alot. any ideas what may cause this and if i may have a problem?
i got my ears peirced not too long ago. iv still got the original stud in and somehow the backing has got stuck in the hole that was pierced on both of my ears and is slightly scabbed over the backing. should i try to get the backing out, leave the hole to heal and the get it re pierced.
you might want to ask at a piercing shop about this i would advise to take it out before it gets grown into your ear cos that happened to my friend and it is still there 2 years later
every time i get something pierced i seem to go feint and end up blacking out, i always have food before and have a chocolate bar for after aswell as a sugary drink, any tips on how to stop myself blacking out after ?
this is because you have too little white blood cells so eat/ drin something sugary nd try not to get too many peircings ;) x
I had my nipple pierced a few years ago and when I took it out, as I no longer wanted it, it left a kind of bump type scar, from where i pulled the bar our, and every now and then I have to squeeze the scar area cos it itches and something like puss comes out... Any one have any idea why??

Sounds like a keloid scar, can get rid of them with tea tree oil, really good stuff, just rub it on twice a day or more if you have time for three weeks and it should dissapear:)
