Testicular Pain

Your testicles/balls/plums/nuts/nads/goolies or whatever other nickname you’ve bizarrely given them are a sensitive area and damage to them could render you incapable of having children – that’s without even mentioning the excruciating pain that would accompany any damage. There are a number of things that could cause a pain in your testicle; some would be instant and absolute agony, where as others might gradually come on over a prolonged period of time, either way, both might be a cause for concern. Remember, testicular cancer causes no pain, so whilst you won’t have to worry about cancer should you get a sudden twinge in your balls, regular self-checks are needed.

Believe it or not, testicles can get infected. It generally happens in older men and is characterised by a throbbing pain, extreme tenderness and swelling – as well as generally feeling under the weather. Antibiotics are the order of the day if this is your ailment and should restore the boys to their former glory with no problem at all. Torsion of the testicles is when one of your testes twists itself round on the cord that attaches it to your body. If you get a sudden, seemingly unprovoked pain, in your testicles you should seek a doctor’s assistance as soon as possible as torsion of the testicles, if left unseen to, can make the affected teste wither and drop off within just six hours. Sorry to scare you lads, but it’s better to be aware. If you have a pain in your scrotum whenever you cough or sneeze you may have a large hernia– yeah, it is possible to get one down there, but fear not! A simple operation will sort a hernia out. If your groin is injured warm baths, pain killers and supportive underwear should shift the pain within a week. That ache you sometimes get in your balls when you’re particularly turned on is nothing to worry about, though relieving the ache can be pretty gruelling – for your wrist at least as masturbation should clear the feeling up instantly. All in all there’s a lot that go wrong with these little chaps so take good care of them and if in doubt get it checked.

I get a sharp pain in both my testicles, noticed it a few years ago when I ejaculate its like semen stones that come out. After I ejaculate a few hours later the pain is gone! What is this? To embarrassed to go to the doctor!

I am 20 years old and have had pain in my left groin and testicle for the past 2 years or so. I have been to the doctors twice, first time was told no problem, second time referred to a physio, which did not work. The pain is sometimes during excercise or after, or sometimes after doing nothing at all. I cannot feel any lumps and am worried as to what the problem could be. Any ideas?!

I have shaved all my hair in the genetal area and then a week later spots that I would get on my face appeared, when I shaved I did cut myself a bit on the bottom of my abdominal so I was wondering if there's something wrong? (also it's inchy) :/

Hi, My brother has had a pain in his testicles for the past week, and he describes the pain as if he's constantly being kicked in the balls. He went to the doctor and he checked it and said he didn't really know, so they followed it up in hospital and they said it was an infection. They gave him antibiotics last week but he says the pain is still continuing. Was just wondering if you'd have any idea what it might be? Thanks
