Third Nipple

A third nipple

A third nipple didn’t prevent Francisco Scaramanga from becoming the world’s top-paid assassin in the Bond movie ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’…and why should it? After all, it’s not as uncommon as you may think. Around 1 in 18 people in the UK may have a third or ‘supernumerary nipple’ and the only real problem may be the social stigma attached to them. They’re often mistaken for moles, as they are not properly formed like normal nipples and can usually be found on an imaginary ‘milk line’ between the armpit and inner thigh. If you feel uncomfortable about yours, it’s probably best to speak to your GP to determine whether surgery is needed. However, Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg has decided against going under the knife to remove his extra teat, because he’s grown to love it. And to put all the rumours to bed about her third nipple, Lily Allen proudly flashed hers whilst hosting the Friday Night Project!

hi, I'm 14 years old, and I have a third nipple too, as do all the people on this board, and I am rather happy with mine. I used to think it was a mole and then when j saw chandler bing on friends with his "nubbin" I realized I had the same thing right underneath my breast. My friends think it's fantastic because... Well I have no idea, they're weird. And I have yet to show my boyfriend cause we were talking about it, and he was talking about howd it be weird to have a third nipple. With that said I dont know how he would take the news of his gjrlfriend with the third nipple, but even so my nubbin is something I'm proud of! It makes me unique and even though its different doesnt mean it's wrong, right?

I am 14 and I have 4 nipples. I have had them all my life but when I was younger they just looked like dry patches, they are only slightly darker than my skin tone and are parallel to my other nipples however recently one of them has started to grow a bud like a real nipple. My mum suggested seeing the doctor about getting them removed, but I am worried about the scars it will leave and whether it will be painful. My younger sister also had identical ones when she was younger accept hers have disappeared leaving tiny white dots as if the rest of her skin got tanned apart from the dots. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

i am 40 ,i have 4 nipples, direclty under my chest,i was going in 4 surgary the doc said i could have it removed with my other prosider .but there was no garentee that it would not grow backthe one which had bump like a babys nipple.yep it grew back.but it dosent bother me. i.ve had them since birth .the doc said to me everyones from dogs???

I have what I have always been told by my mother as a 'beauty spot' but reading about third nipples I am now begining to question it. Only thing is this 'spot' is on a horizontal line between my two proper (conventional) nipples, so is it a third nipple? or just as always told to me - a 'beauty spot'? (a mole in other words)

Im twenty now, and have four nipples... the others are small, though, and happen to be on the underside of my breasts, so it's not overly noticeable. It's taken me a while to accept them, as a kid I thought it was neat (I have a twin sister who has the same problem, so we just ignored it all) but after hitting puberty the embarrassment hit. After a while, however, I've grown to accept them. As a teenager though I swore to one day get them removed. It was difficult during my first relationship - I felt so self conscious, but he didn't even notice, and accepted it without question when I finally broached the subject months later. Just stick through it. My sister did have one of hers removed - it began growing larger than her other one, and now she has this lil white scar. It's not very noticeable, though, although it did hurt at the time.

But not only does the nipple look vile, it has a bump and looks like my other boobs and is not flat like the other side! its really embarrassing and i don't want to take my shirt off to wear a swimming costume because it pokes out! I was considering surgery but i don't know what to do! at this point in time, i would rather a couple of stitches than this revolting defect on my belly! please help !!!! thanks xx

I've just had mine removed, because it was in the inframmatory fold and my bra rubbed horribly on it and it was sore. HOWEVER I would say that if you really don't need it removing for health reasons to leave it, because the operation itself was painful and afterwards was achey. It has been ten days now, one of the stitches pulled and obviously it's in a tender place anyway.... cant wear a bra at the moment! Thius is purely m experience, not saying it's a painful procedure full stop, but if I hadn't begun having problems with it I would definitely have left it, was a bit sad to see it go!

I went through the exact same thing except i might have even had it a little worse off. Thought surgerical removal would be the best thing ever but now ive got two fatty scars that ill have forever. Now im thinking it wasnt so bad before, cause the scars show i couldnt deal with it. Its up to you though

I'm 19 and I too have four nipples. as a child my family used to pay me a quater to see them and made jokes about putting me in a circus or said that I'd have to wear two bras. I used to hate them so much and said that when I turned 18 I was getting them removed I too used to be scared to take my shirt off and to have a relationship but I learned that it is ok and celebrities even have extra nipples. when you find the right guy he won't care and many people aren't freaked out about them and if they are then they just need to realize that nobody on earth is perfect and I mean nobody. we all have these extra nipples as fetuses but for some they never go away when we are born. you shouldn't be ashamed you should love the person you are and many people won't even notice. i have worn a bathing suit around many people who don't even realize and I have told people and they think it's kinda kool so be happy because we are rare women:)

I'm 14 and I have a third nipple. When I was little I thought I was an apple because I had a dent but when I got older and my breasts started developing, so did the 'dent'. I was just wondering: can you get breast cancer from a third nipple? I am quite scared so please help. Thank you.

I will say that I lived for 37 years with a third nipple and it never grew. At age 38 I went to a plastic surgeon for implants and he said he would remove the third nipple and check it for cancer. Thank the lord it wasnt nothing bad but now thats its gone I miss it :) GOD makes us all in different ways and my mom always told me that I was made special just by having the third nipple. Its not a bad thing, Good luck!!!
