Conditions

Trichomoniasis

Like all sexually transmitted infections, trichomoniasis is relatively common and is usually spread by having unprotected sex. It affects both men and women, with symptoms tending to appear 5 to 28 days after exposure to the infection. However, men very rarely present any symptoms when they are infected, and approximately 50% of women present no symptoms at all. But if symptoms do appear, then women can look forward to soreness, inflammation and itching around the vagina; a fishy-smelling discharge that may appear thicker, thinner, frothy or yellow or green in colour; pain or discomfort when passing urine; discomfort during sexual intercourse; and pain in the lower abdomen. Men can also experience pain after urination and ejaculation; thin white discharge from the penis; and similar discomfort during sexual intercourse. Trichomoniasis is usually treated quickly and easily with an antibiotic that, if taken correctly, is at least 95% effective. But let’s be honest, it’s probably easier to just wear a condom.

Hi I'm 20years old and never had sex,but I do masturbate! I don't know for sure, but I think I have some kind of infection. Thus I'm a maniac when it comes to hygiene I wash my hands, wash any toilet with soap and water before sitting on and I don't know how I got it. here are some of the symptoms that I have encountered: spotting between period, yellowish or thick white disccharge with an odd smell sometimes, sore, painful urination, and it itches so bad. Can you guys help me please, what is it and how can I treat it!!!

I am 14 and a half. I think I have an 'over wet vagina' where theres always a milky coloured thing there like the picture shows for Trichomoniasis. But I have never had anal sex, only oral sex so I am abit concerned why its like that. Also I seem to be bleeding out of my clitoris and vagina, Is that supposed to happen?

Try looking up Trichomoniasis. It sounds alot like that. Luckily, Tri. can be treated with antibiotics. (: Also.. that bleeding, is your period. Ever girl has it. Talk to your mom or a trusted adult.

i am the same but i am 11 xx

Could be a UTI. (Urinary Tract Infection). Its very common among girls, and you dont necessarily have to be sexually active to get it. Pick up a UTI tester at a local pharmacy. Go to the bathroom and test it, if you do have a UTI, pick up some *Vagisil* Its a medicine to treat it. && Follow the directions. Im sorry to say this but if these things dont work, you have to tell your mom, or a health teacher at school, or any trusted adult. It can get worse && lead to infertility as well as a worsened infection, which can only be treated with prescription antibiotics. Hope this helped(:

If you have trichomoniasis see an infectious disease doctor for treatment. Your partner will also need to be treated as it is transmitted sexually. Don't have unprotected sex while you have this.

try using natural yoghurt. prior to modern medicine, it was used by ladies who suffered from thrush...

I have thrush like symptoms, itchy and sore vagina. I have a light yellow discharge. I've taken a thrush pill and used a pessary and using the canesten cream. None of which have worked that well. I'm a bit concerned as I had unprotected sex 7 days prior to symptoms started. Not sure what to do.
