Episode 7 - Back to the Clinic

A giant vagina...

Bridgid first came to see Dr Pixie in October 2008 with a large vagina caused by excess skin following dramatic weight loss. On examination Dr Pixie also diagnoses the signs of vaginal prolapse. These symptoms were having a severely negative effect on Bridgid’s life – even causing her husband to sleep in a different room. After consultation with specialist Dr Slack, Bridgid’s previous notion that a hysterectomy would fix her problem was proven to only solve part of her discomfort. After further discussion the decision to prescribe a series of injections relieved the symptoms dramatically, however they can only be taken temporarily. Bridget is still consulting her doctor in regards to the best long term treatment options available to her but was feeling far less discomfort and was much happier.

I wouldn't really worry about it. I hit puberty around 11 but never received a period until i was 14, and a friend of mine didn't receive any until she was 16, even though she'd been through puberty and developed breast's. Although people usually get the periods before or at the same time as puberty, they don't always, it's different for everyone. Also, excessive exercise or lack of nutrients can prevent it. If i were you i would just wait, but if you haven't received any by the time your 17, i would consult a doctor.

For the last 5 years me and my wife were trying to have a baby. After lots of test for her and just few for me the GP told us that I have zero sperm count. We were waiting for month and month to be referred to an IVF clinic. At the present we are still waiting for the first appointment with the clinic but is not so easy because every time when my wife’s period is coming some how there are no appointments available. The main concern for me is that nobody wants to investigate the reason for my zero sperm count and even the GP does not want to investigate the pain that I have in my testicles for the last 3 years. The pain comes and goes and is like a needle is passing thru my testicles. It last no longer then 5 minutes but is very intense. From what I could notice up to now, there is no obvious reason for the pain to appear. The answer from the GP was that is no point to investigate anymore now because the IVF clinic will start all over again. I’m a bit worried not just because I can not have kids at the moment, but for the fact that nobody wants to investigate the reason why. Can you please advise me on this matter?! Thank you very much.

The patient said it was caused by excess skin due to weight loss. It should not be stated on the website as if it is a professional diagnosis. This is very misleading. Evidently, it is as a result of her lifestyle choices which she ought to have honestly stated. Losing weight does not lead to a big vagina!

I to have plantar fasciitis in both feet for about 6 years.I have to wear trainers 90% of the time. I go to hospital every 3-6 months to see a specialist who just gives me new insoles, they help for a little while but then I'm back to the pain again. Nothing really helps and I would be very interested to hear of anything that helps you.
