Be On Embarrassing Bodies

Embarrassing Bodies

This groundbreaking series is coming back and aiming to dispel more of the myths surrounding medical conditions deemed to be ‘embarrassing’, and demonstrating that there’s no need to feel ashamed because actually, we’re all the same!

The team will be back to full strength with Dr. Christian, Dr. Dawn, Dr. Pixie and Dr. Priya diagnosing and offering medical advice for a huge range of ailments. Our dentist, Dr James will also be diagnosing and treating a huge range of dental complaints.

If you would like the chance to meet our doctors or dentist for an on-screen face-to-face consultation, please complete the application form below.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from parents who would like help with their children, but whatever the problem, please get in touch.

You can share your experiences and thoughts with other Embarrassing Bodies site-users below. Comments are reviewed before they are published.

I'm 21 years old and have had psoriasis since I was 5. I have tried everything from creams, to coal tar, to steroidal creams, to shampoos as shower gels, to sunbeds and back again. The doctors just keep sending me away with yet another cream. I got bullied all the way through school, which has ruined whatever self confidence I have. I can't use fake tan because it clings to the patches like big, orange 'cigarette burns'. When I'm out, people ask if I've got leprosy, and I have to convince them it's not contagious. The more stressed I get, more appears, which then stresses me out further. So it's a horrible circle. Its stopped me going to the gym, stripping off on holiday, and I just want it gone.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I am a 41 year old female and have suffered from alopecia for several years. Normally my hair falls out in patches and then after several months grows back. I have had numerous tests and was referred to a skin specialist a few years ago. Lots of lotions and potions were tried and tested on my head to no avail. In summer 2009, all my hair decided to fall out and I am now completely bald. In addition my eyebrows and my right eye lashes have also disappeared. I do, however, have hair elsewhere! Help – I find my bald head really embarrasing unless I wear a wig, which is great until the wind blows!

I am 21 years ld and have a baby son who is 18months. Since having him i have this fold off loose skin hanging down from my belly. Its awful, i dont no what to do about it. I have lost all my baby weight and have a healthy bmi of 22 so i know it isnt a weight issue. Ive tryed going 2 the gym and doing 800 sit ups a night but nothing works! It has really knocked my confidence and I cant wear tight clothes or take my son swimming because of it. I went to my GP but thet said there was nothing they could do for me on the NHS. I saw on your show you helped a girl wiv a similar problem. Could you help me?? Your my last resort.

I've spent lots of time and money over the years on lotions and potions for my hair loss and have even been to a specialist (refered to by my doctor) who just identified that I have a very healthy scalp and could see no reason why I suffer from this problem.
I'm now 42 and resigned to the fact that nothing can be done, however no-one has ever told me if the dent in the side of my head could be the cause, I have no knowledge of how this trauma occurred but could this be causing the hair loss? The dent on my head is about 4inchs long and the hair loss/breakage is localised around this area. I know there is'nt much you can do to help but I'm still searching for answers.
