The symptoms of lymphoedema include:

  • swelling in part, or all, of a limb - this can lead to difficulties in wearing jewellery/watches or fitting into clothes or shoes,
  • the limb can feel heavy,
  • the affected limb loses some of its mobility,
  • pain in the affected limb,
  • a tingling sensation in the affected limb, much like 'pins and needles'
  • the affected limb develops repeated skin infections, and
  • the skin on the affected limb becomes hardened and tight, and blisters or wart-like growths can develop on the surface of the skin.
