Body Check: Sweat
Weather we like or not, we all sweat and without it we’d die. Sweating is essential to regulate body temperature and stop our organs from overheating. In this video, Dr Christian explains how to keep track of your sweat levels.
You need to weigh yourself before and after a workout in the same clothes, and you should keep hydrated during your workout. For an accurate result, weigh yourself holding your water bottle.
Time how long you exercise for and then use our sweat calculator to determine how much fluid you’ve lost.
Some people sweat more than others in a condition called ‘Hyperhidrosis’. But however much you sweat, it’s essential to keep your hydration levels just right. Knowing your sweat rate will help regulate your hydration levels as not drinking enough water, or drinking too much, can lead to medical conditions.
We want to hear about your findings, so please click the link below and add your results to our national survey.

From as long as i can remember I do not sweat much and i am worried this might be really bad for my health. When i was in my teens and did aerobics with my friends they would come out really wet but I would not sweat at all. I would have a very red face and my hands would feel really swollen. My feet really suffer badly and can crack which is what started my enquiry in the first place. I am now 48 but I worry about this now alot. .

Hi, I'm 14, I can't seem to stop my excessive sweating, it smells quite bad. I have been bullied since primary school about it. If I hold something for too long my hands start to sweat and the object slips out of my hand (I broke 2 glasses this week! I'm not joking).I also sweat when I am cold; is that normal? I really need something to get rid of it.It is ruining my life.

I have suffered with hyperhidrosis from being 14. At first i was told by GP's that it was a hormonal thing that i would grow out of. When i reached 16/17 the problem continued so i decided to do something about it. Driclor although it does make you itch a little is fab. I apply just before i fall asleep so it doesnt bother me so much and i can honestly say i have never been more confident since discovering it and would recommend it to anyone... I hope this helps xXx
