Consultation: Asymmetrical Breasts

Around 99% of women have asymmetrical breasts to some degree, however for many of these women this difference can be more than a cup size. Dr Dawn Harper refers a patient to a specialist who recommends liposuction in order to solve this embarrassing illness from series one.

I am 18 years old. My breasts have been uneven my whole life. I started to develop my left breast around the age of 9. I'm not too sure when my right breast started to develop. Right now my left breast spills out of a 32 DD and my right seems to fit a 32 D perfectly. I was always made fun of throughout my youth, it made me feel like an outcast. I'm not sure why people like to point it out because it has a huge effect on my self esteem. But along with my breast size difference, my left nipple and areola is also alot larger and protrudes more than my right nipple and areola does. Does anyone else have this problem? I mean it looks like two totally different breasts on one body. Let me know! I have been trying to figure this out for so long.

I don't have this problem but once was with a girl that did. Honestly thought it was really. The extra variety was defiantly a turn on.

I have exactly the same problem. My left breast is spilling over a B cup and my right almost fits in a B cup. I am slim so I don't have big bust but the difference between them are obvious. I feel like a freak every time I pay heed to it. I don't feel comfortable going on the beach, I don't feel confident when I walk the streets and I always feel that people are staring at my chest so I try to walk in a way that will hide my chest. Its crazy!! I am willing to try almost anything to get it fixed. But I don't know who to go to.

I'm 25 yrs old and have the same problem as all of you. My left breast is a D cup and my right is a B cup. I've stuffed my bra with everything u can think of but have yet to find anything thing that really works for me. I've thought about implants but I'm scared of surgery and my fiancé is totally against it. I want to feel sexy and wear a bathing suit and sexy underwear but it's impossible for me to feel confident in them. Is there any other solution besides surgery that can fix this?

I am 20 years old, for years I have had this same problem. My right breasts is a D cup and my left is either a large A or a B cup. When I turned 14 i did find a solution to this problem in terms of hiding it. It is called a breast balance. It is an alternative to implants and is what women who have had mastectomies often use. The balance comes in varying sizes so you are measured so you can get the right one. All you have to do is insert the balance into the pocked of a special bra known as a mastectomy bra (these pockets can also be sown into your own regular bras) and presto, noone can tell the difference. Here is a link where you can get more information on the breast balance: - http://www.fourseasonslingerie.com.au/shop/product/amoena-balance-259/141 They might have been originally created for women who have had mastectomies but they work for asymmetrical breasts as well. I have been using a breast balance since I was 14 years old and not a soul can tell. P.S. Breast balances are also made for swimwear as well and swimsuits can be bought that already have the pockets for these balances sown in from the same company, Amoena(http://www.amoena.com/global). Their website can help you find a distributor near you (I believe that you can also order online and have the products delivered). Perhaps most importantly a balance is WAYYYY cheaper than plastic surgery and their is absolutely no risk.

I am 30, have 2 sons, aged 33 months and 16 months and have lopsided boobs, even more noticeable since stopping feeding my youngest son. Its upsetting me no end and finding a bra where i don't end up falling out of one side is near on impossible. I've lost almost 5 stone in weight since having my kids and my confidence weight wise is great but boob wise it just totally gets me down. I'm getting married in May and I just want to be normal!!! I'm sure the doctor would laugh or just poo poo it if i went for advice. I can't live my life like this forever!! Its awful!!

I am 26 years old and I'm not exactly sure but my left breast is a DD and my right is a B. Ever since puberty Ive been self conscious. I remained optimistic that they would even out. I spoke to doctors who told me birth control would give me the extra hormones to help speed that up. Nothing. Then I was told that it may change when I decide to get pregnant. Well...My first son is now 2 months old. Nothing. They've gone from D cup/B cup pre-pregnancy to DD/B post. I'm upset about it. Breasts are what make me feel feminine. I stuff my bra for 12 years so I look normal to everyone on the outside but it kills me to look so abnormal behind closed doors. I can't wear a bathing suit, lingerie without being worried about looking a fool. I really wish surgery didnt have to be an option. I'd like to think I was made this way for a reason, but I'd be lying if I said it doesnt bother me.

Hi I'm 17 I have always had a large chest but my right side is much bigger than the left. One is a 32 e and the other a 32 c. It didn't used to bother me because I thought it would even out. It makes me feel self conscious since it is such a large gap, I know it's a common problem but when it effects you, it just feels different.i was wondering if there was anything I could do ?

Hi! Okay so I'm 15 right now but my left boob is a a/b and my right boob is a dd. it's very annoying (as most of you probably know) everyday I have to stuff my bra and I can't ever wear a low-cut top or swimsuit without worrying about it! :( I'm sure a lot of you have experienced this but I'm just miserable! Is there any suggestions? Is there anything, besides surgery, that I could use/do to get my left to grow more? I realize I'm still very young but I'm tired of it. Thanks guys!
