My best friend has had problems with facial hair for over a decade. She wants to get laser treatment, but has she has very dark skin (she is from West Africa) it is difficult to find the right clinic in London for her. Do you have a link to the clinic used on the programme or any other clinics that cater for dark African skin. I am no help as this is sort of thing is all foreign to me. It hurts to see her so depressed and down on herself when she needn't be. Please can you help.

Hi,

I have been reading the comments and totally understand. I also had excessive hair on my tummy line, toes and face cheeks area as well as my sides on my face. I tried waxing which made it worse and if you have sensitive skin i wouldnt recommend this. I also tried plucking, but the hair grew back thick and with vengence.

Plucking just took ages to get each hair and i ended up getting very bad marks and ingrowns on my tummy. I dont recommend plucking especially the belly buttons area.I ended up getting laser and it worked well. The hair on my sides has gone all but a bit of faint fair hair is all that remains, which looks really natural and perfect. As for my tummyline. I used glycolic acid products to get rid of the marks and it has improved so much, which i never even dreamed it would. my beautician originally recommened me md formulations which has gycolic acid in it and then i ended up doing a gycolic acid home peel
which faded the ingrown hair scars.

Laser is costly and often may take a while to fund. i suggest using threading for the toes and bleaching for the cheeks.

Threading is so cheap and you can do it at home if you know how.As an indian person the concept of threading in my culture is very popular and its soo cheap.you can go to a salon for this. some indian people are very hairy and its perfectly normal for some women in my culture. so dont be embarrased.

If you are having laser and are worried about in between treatments you can trim the hair with a lady trimmer until your treatment is due. I got mine from boots and wilkinson for less than a £10.you can do this at home.

I felt ashamed before of having a relationship and i felt people used to take the mick.someone once said to me do you shave you have stubble. Please dont feel down laser is very effective especially if the hair is thick and black.but research it properly and get a consultaation.try haggling if its a highstreet salon.after a few treatments im sure your consulatant would probably work out a deal.dont waste ur money on hair removal creams and dont wax the face too much its bad for the skin and can scab up your face.waxing was only good for the little fine line up my stomach.dont bother below the belly button.it may make it worse like mine.also you can buy body mitts which help exfoliate and so the hair doesnt get ingrown.also depending what the hairs like on your face you can wear mineral make-up to minimise it. i found that this helps and doesnt necessarily block the skins pores causing breakouts. I hope that this really helps. I understand what its like. It will get better. it did for me. I hope that this helps.Remember you are all beautiful because you are Gods creation x

Can anyone recommend a good laser removal clinic in London, so many out there please help.

Please can you advice me on the best place to go for laser treatment I have suffered far two long, after watching your programme I have been searching for the best laser treatment there are so many.

please help

My daughter suffers with this, shes 22 and had it for ages now. Is the laser removal of hair done on the NHS??, as she wouldnt not be able to afford to have it done privately. And also why do men gps dismiss this problem as 'just one of them things' as another person mentioned? My daughters gp is like that and I do want her to change gps as he doesnt seem to be aware of ladies feelings.

Hi, I have excess facial hair. It as destroyed my life for the past 20 years. What I am extremely worried about is, my little boy starts school in September and I dread him being bullied because of me (some kids can be so cruel). Also, on your programmes, i haven't seen anybodies as bad as my face is. Is the treatment for this available on the NHS? If so, I will only then be prepared to go to my Doctor. Please HELP

hi, i been suffering with facial and bodily excess hair for many years! plz could you advice me the best lazer treatment that would get rid of my hair for good! thank you very much x

Hi. I got diagnosed with polysistic ovaries when I was just 12 since then I started to get very bad facial hair it ruined my life. I put on alot of weight due to depression but that's goin now. I started with waxing when I was 16 it helped but made my face a mess. I then started on electrolysis which help alot but wasn't a cure. I started with laser treatment in January and the effects are outstanding after just 2 treatments. It is rather costly but it's the best money iv spent and very recommendable. I also met a couple of girls going through the treatment and it's fantastic to talk to people in the same boat and not be embarrased.

what was the name of the birth pill that reduced hair growth that was mentioned on the programme

I found this informative as I started getting problems from this condition before the age of 20(I will be 48 soon). I have hair from my belly button down to the pubic hair. And I have faicial hair on the underside of my chin which I both pluck
and shave. When I have mentioned this condition in the past to a doctor I was told it was 'one of those things'!
