Consultation: Peyronie’s Disease
Peyronie’s disease affects approximately 800,000 men in the UK and although it tends to run in families, it can also be caused by damage to the penis. In this consultation taken from series one of Embarrassing Illnesses, Dr Christian Jessen refers a patient with Peyronie’s to undergo surgery to correct his curve!

Hi i have a curvature of the penis to the left and i'm sure as i have got older it has gradually got worst. At the minute it is probably 30degrees off to the left. I am positive it is not peyronies disease as i can feel no scarring what so ever. I personally think it is more likely an extreme natural curvature.
Masturbating and sex can be uncomfortable at times and i've really come to a tether with it all and would really like some professional advice as to what i can do about it and whether surgery is an option or anything else for that matter?
hi im 23 and my penis is shaped like a banana too but it points upwards and does not afffect or has ever affected my sex life its quiet large too so just wondering am i in for a chance of developing peyrones later in life im 8.5 erect but only 5'' flaccid and uncut
Mine is curved to the left a bit ever since a football hit it (the curvature starting at the base …as if my penis has twisted towards the left slightly lol no joke. it has made my length when measuring significantly bigger (with a tape) – not so much with the ruler though…it has rendered a ruler measurement for me…inaccurate.
I am not sure what type of penis pleases a female most.
I'm 17 and my penis is curved like a banana, so not as bad as that man in the video, but apart from it still being very embarissing, I don't know how badly this'll effect penetration during sex. I've been to a urologist and he told me that I will only need to do anything about it if interfiers with the sex. He suggested a surgery in that case. But that'd really only be a last option for me, is there any way to correct it without surgery???
im 14 and my penis bends downwards quite alot, im afraid of what my girlfriend will say and i think i might have this peyronies thing, but when i get an irection it doent hurt. is their a way to cure quickly without surgery.
hi i was cut in feb everything else is good but the sweelling about the head of my willy is still there. when i have sex or wank the skin digs into me were one of the stiches were there is a hard bit.
I am 47 and have Peyronies. Although the curvature (to the right) of my penis is quite marked, my main problem is that I have lost the rigidity of my past erections. If I can solve this then I can put up with the rest! I'm taking 2ml of Vitamin E three times a day, to try and break down the plaque which forms the 'lump' in the shaft of my penis. I'm not too hopeful of a good outcome but would welcome thoughts from anyone who has seen success from taking either Vitamin E or the likes of Neprinol. I don't really want to go down the route of Viagra or Cialis just yet! As I'd rather try and cure the 'fault' first!
I am 58 and have always had a slight bend of my penis to the left. Over the last 3 – 4 years I have developed a severe bend/crease about a third of the way from the base as if it were broken. In fact, when erect (although it will not fully erect any more and difficult to have sex) it can be virtually folded double to the left but will not bend at all to the right. It pinches in where the crease is and looks as if the tissue has collapsed. I have seen a urologist who has said it could be Peyronies but I have no hard lumps or soreness. If I have an operation (Nesbit procedure) I am concerned about being left with an hour glass shape and also have been told that I may have to be circumsized. Could I have your opinion please.
Hi basicly i have a bent penis and when its erect it bends to the left i was wondering what i can do without having surgery or consulting my GP? as im 16 and feel really embarrased ??
hi, i'm 18 and my penis when erect it bends downward more or less like the patient in the video. I think i've got Peyronie’s Disease but actually whem erect my penis doesn't hurt at all. I'm wondering if there any way to straighten it without surgery.
