Consultation: Verrucas
Verrucas can be extremely painful and amazingly difficult to get rid of, although many can clear up on their own. It’s probably not surprising to hear that there are 8 million of us suffering from them at any one time! So it’s up to Dr Pixie McKenna to sort out these two patient’s verrucas when they visit her for a consultation.

hi i had this problem for years until i tried some crystals called potassium permanganate, i tried bazooka gels and other stuff i painted on from the doctor, well the potassium permanganate are crystals what you dissolve in hot water, look it up on wikipedia! they turn the skin purple so be careful and after a few days i would CAREFULLY! shave them with a razor blade and repeat with the crystals again in hot water. it worked for me!
hello my name is laura im 13 and ive had a veruca since i was 11 years old ! ive tried treating them but nothing works! Its really embarrising! and there have been a couple of more verucas which have appearedjust lately! i really dont know what to do! but i really want them to go! xx

Hi, i have had verrucas on my right foot for ages now. They are spreading quite a bit and are annoying because it gets in the way of activities. They have been frozen twice now and they wont go away at all. The doctor's said that they will go away in time but i don't think they will.
Hi I have had veruccas for 18 years I have tried caustic pencil, gels and freezing for weeks at the doctors but ended up giving up. My daughter and son now have them which adds to the problem – is it something to do with your immune system and being prone to them – One major one I have is quite deep in the centre of the sole of my foot which I have to keep filing down. The others on the side of my big toe which can look horrible if I don't keep filed – hate the things but feel I have to live with them – dont like that thought for my daughter in particular HELP
I have a few on my feet , had them for years now ,and the passed couple of years 1 wart. no matter they will not go. And i dont dare show them , always socks on and long sleeves on so i can cover the warts. And if i have short sleeves top on i wear a plaster, its soo annoying. Cant go anywhere with out socks! I cant sunbathe go to beach, swimming and always have to try get out of p.e when its bare feet. Havent told anyone,except parentbut we have tryed everything. Cant get on with my life properly, embarrassed and uncomfortable! i need some help ! pleae dont say GP or that, too Embarrassing, no matter what people say not going. Soo please help me. i want them gone especially for my prom coming up! i cant get my nails done either as dont want them too be seen. so i guess you see how bad they are annoying me.
hi, im 20years old i av 7 verrucas on my right foot and 8 on my left, ive had them for 6years ive tried everything ive even tried avin them froze off but nothing they just keep spreading they are only very small but i cant get my feet out incase people wil see im constantly wearing socks its driving me mad! i need help my doctor keeps telling me they wil go on their own but when? 6years is a very long time when some of them are painfull can anyone help me? thank you x
I have had verrucas on my foot now for just over 4 years. I have a bad case of mosaic warts and they have spread rapidly over the past 4 years.
I have used home treatments and I have had my verrucas frozen at the hospital, I had about 5-6 treatments and I showed no improvement. Please help me they are vile and I want to get rid of them.
I noticed that they started to dry up when I was in holiday and I was in the sea, is it an old wifes tale or can sea salt water really help?

Im the same.. i have been Suffering for years with these horrible little things! I have on the ball of my foot a large amouth.. probably 20little black bits! (not sure wht else to call them!) then On my FINGER TO!! I have tryed Cutting out… They just Bleeed for ages! I find my skin around them is very lose and dry…
I hate them… Ive tryed Gel and Freezing.. Nothing!
MY foot hurts… but dosent bother me half as much as my finger..! im used to them now but want them gone! my Dr is Rubbish!!
