Dr Pixie:
The subject of enlarged labia has really got you talking. A lot of you wondered, is it normal to have one side bigger than the other? Absolutely! It’s totally fine, don’t worry about it. We are all different.
Some of you wondered if large labia can affect health and cleanliness and ‘do they give rise to more infections’. Because the cells on the inside of the labia are actually mucus-producing, so they produce secretions, what happens is they actually make the labia stick together. And that can make people feel like they’re unclean or can sometimes give rise to maybe a slight smell. But in no way do they cause infections or any medical problems.
A lot of you have asked, will your labia get larger as you get older? The chances are, they will, and a lot of times this is related to the number of natural births you have.
A lot of you wondered, what do you actually do to deal with enlarged labia? Well, there is a procedure called labiaplasty—which again is something that’s got you all talking and passing comments about—which can be done through a cosmetic surgeon. It is not a routine procedure on the NHS, and is usually done by a surgeon who feels there is a clinical need based on pain or discomfort or distress to the patient. If you’re concerned about your labia, they’re causing you pain or psychological disturbance, it is always worthwhile talking to a doctor.

Hi, i'm 15 and petrified of telling my doctor or anyone that i have enlarged Labia. :( Please help me as i don't know what to do or who do go to It hurts when i do general activities such as Cycling, Walking and Running. Sometimes even sitting down! If, somehow, i could get an appointment with EB, i'd be really grateful because it's really getting me down and i'm extremely self consious about it. Thanks.

i'm 15 i have the same problem and me and all my friends live for our prom at the end of our year i have i boyfriend and well i'll be 16 and at prom everybody "does it" and well i really want to but my only promblem is will he notice (or care) and i know he will end up telling his mate's if he does :/ sooo if there is anyway i can have sex with it hidden or at a differnt angle or something pealse let me know and how many peole in the u.k have this like 10% or something..? PLAESE REPLY OR SOMETHING...
i know it's embarrassing and you can feel really insecure about it, but i just sort of hope you know that he's your boyfriend and must care about you and if you love hime enough to have sex with him he should love you enough not to care about a silly thing like that. he's with you for you as a person, not for sex. but obviously you're worried. it becomes a lot more obvious if you're having oral sex or if he's using his hands a lot, but just for the normal sex itself you should be absolutely fine. and tbh, he is not going to be thinking about what it looks like, he'll be thinking about you.
I Have prom coming up aswell and even though i dont have a boyfriend its been on my mind! everyone has alot to drink and you know! but im scared what people may be like :(
