I am 16 and i have the same problem! I'm scared that when i do become sexually active that it will get spread about that i have a hanging thing below. I wouldnt want anyone making fun of me in that way! but these comments have helped me a good bit to realise that lots of people have it, not just me. :)

I'm 16 and have an enlarged labia. I've always been really self-conscious about it because I thought it was weird, and pushed boys away because I was afraid they would think I was a freak. I'm really relieved that its not as unusual as I thought. I feel so much better knowing that it isn't a problem.

I am nearly 15 and i also suffer from this. Its really embarrassing because it is very unconfortable. Its also really embarrassing when all your friends talk about things like this and are having sex for the first time. I have had the oppurtunity but i always feel ashamed and dont go for it. It really has taken alot of confidence away because it is long and really irritating. I really want to have surgery but i would never consult my gp, i wish there was a place you could just go to, to get it sorted out :)

I totally agree with all the comments people have made for those with enlarged labia! The unsightliness, the discomfort and the psychological impact. I'm 20 and have yet to have sex, as I'm hoping to reserve that treasure for my future husband! But nonetheless, I've always had a niggling concern in the back of my mind with how I look down there, having enlarged labia myself, and of what my husband would think when he gets to see it. But it's so encouraging that the majority of ladies who've commented have said that actually, having enlarged labia is in no way a turn off for guys. So thankyou! I just wish I could be confident in myself to just accept who I am and how I've been made, and to prepare to be pleasantly surprised on my wedding night just how much it doesn't really matter!

I have just turned 18 and I have been suffering with this problem since the beginning of puberty. I am a healthy weight I have never had a child or had complications, I don't smoke or drink. Before puberty I didn't seem to notice my labia being any larger than normal but I think it was was I started having sex that I realised. It gets me down near enough everyday. I am currently in a relationship and I have spoken in depth to my boyfriend about this. He says he loves me the way I am and he doesn't want me to go for surgery..but I think our sex life is suffering because of my lack of confidence. I don't like him to touch me down there and we have sex with the lights off more often than not which he has complained about as he says he loves seeing my body. I realise that I am not the only one out there with this problem but i have always said if i could change one thing it would be to make my vagina look "normal". :( Its uncomfortable, unsightly and really embarrasing. The worst thing is i dont have the money for surgery and I'm shy to speak to a doctor about it in case they tell me to stop worrying and that its not enough of a problem to get it done on the NHS. It IS a problem to me though and I don't like to think i am complaining about nothing. It causes me phsycological problems and physical discomfort.
