Has any on got any solutions to essessive hair growth on facial and other areas that would help black people? I have had this growth on my upper lip chin... everywhere a man has it.. only problem is I'm a woman.. so it's embarrassing.

I have really dark, thick hair along the whole of my jaw bone, my lip, my chin and down my neck. I use bleaching products and waxing which helps most of it. However along my jaw bone my skin gets very saw, irritated and spotty - this happens even when i use products for sensitive skin. Furthermore, the hair in this area always grows back thick regardless of waxing and the bleaching only lasts 5 days before it needs redoing. Dark hair on my body i can deal with but on my face and neck which i cant exactly cover up. I end up pulling my hair across my face looking like something out of The Grudge just to hide my problem. This is getting me so down I hate standing near people for too long incase someone notices. I don't feel like a 'real' woman!! Any help out there??? judging by previous comments laser doesn't work well and I'm a student so expensive solutions are not an option.

I'm 20 and was diagnonsed with PCOS at 16. I suffer with excess hair almost from top to bottom and it makes me feel horrible and has caused me severe depression but the doctors say all they can do is offer me creams and tablets which just don't even seem to be touching it. Is it worth mentioning laser hair removal because there is no way I can keep doing this, its so humiliating.

Our biggest high street chemist sells their own IPL machine offering permanent hair reduction for face and body. I bought one after reading the positive reviews on their website. It's not cheap (I paid £250 in their New Year sale) but compared to salon prices, it's a bargain. I have used it three times so far (one treatment a week) on my underarms and bikini. I've also done some patches on my inner thighs where I also have excess dark hair. My underarm hair is already showing a reduction. The unit head is small so it takes some time to cover a large area so I'm concentrating on small areas first. The best thing about having your own machine is that you can do it when it suits you and if hair does start to grow back later, you'll be able to zap it again. On legs and underarms I didn't find it painful at all. At worst it was slightly uncomfortable for the second that the laser is activated. It did sting on my bikini area though but only for a second each time the button is pressed. This machine is only suitable for fair skin and hair that is darker than your skintone.
