I'm 19 and I suffered acne from roughly the age of 15 to 17. My acne was really bad that I had to wear a lot and a lot of make up all of a sudden :s I started my period late but every time I did I started getting these random spots and they were sometimes really itchy. I used to look at myself in the mirror and literally just break down and cry :'( mum used to hit me every time I touched my face and slowly I stopped touching my face.. I stopped caring when people stared at me, i should be thinking about people with worse problems.. As soon as I turned 18 my face started to clear out its because every night before I fell asleep I used to clean my face an leave it dry without no cream and fall asleep.. I didn't touch my face from the age of 18 till now.. Since my face started to clear out I just put Nivea cream and walk out it's not bad any more. I don't put any make up on because I'm scared I might get a spot. I also eat healthy... After all them years and all that crying I guess my fce cleared after all?

I wish I had the answer too. I haven't had acne scars on my face/back but even more embarrasingly on my buttocks. Severe deep purple marks. They make me extremely self conscious; enough to stay away from having a partner. I would love to have mine sorted but I could not face having to show my bum off on the tv and GP's do not offer any help, not even a referral to see a dermatologist.

Everytime that I start on my period I seemed to get a large spots somewhere on my face. I am 28 years old and I've got so many black marks on my face from acne scars and spots. I used to have nice clear face but now I seemed to hide it with make up. I went to my doctor but he tells me it gonna get better, which I doubt it only made it worse. I need help on what to use on the black and peeled spots. I'm black and don't know which products to use.

I have been getting acne since my teens especially when I get my period. I have been on Dianette since I was 16 and recently changed to Cileste. Both keep it in check to an extent but I am still prone to breakouts and always have some acne. I tried Roaccutane which worked while I was on it but I found so harsh. I tried Proactiv which does work for me, but again it's really harsh and will bleach all of your towels /pillow cases. I've tried natural remedies and Dr Haushka which does nothing for me except aggravate my skin. I'm using Clinique facial wash and makeup and find that doesnt aggravate my skin so would encourage you to try different fashwashes (I have heard cetaphil and E4 are both cheap gentle options). Recently I have started drinking approx 2 litres of water a day and have been amazed at the difference in my skin. I have also cut down on how much sugar I eat and have found that also helps. A good cheap natural fix for individual spots is a little poultice made of flour and baking soda mixed to a paste with water - let it dry on your face and then rub off - It makes your pimples go down and reduces redness. I also put green-tea bags to take down swelling. I guess it's a case of trying everything and sticking with what works!

hi i have severe rosacea acne and have used skinerin for the last 2 years and lymacicline for 2 years and i asked to be referred to a dermatologist and was refused by my gp. my acne is terrible and getting worse and getting depressed. i have recently read an article where a lady used ktp laser and pdt laser which helped. please please please help as somedays i call into work sick just to hide away.

I'm 19 years old and have been suffering from acne from the age of 13 or so and those spots and blemishes have now turned into very bad scars that are very noticable and i have always been quite upset and distressed. I wear quite alot of makeup to cover them i know this doesn't help but iI'm at the point of not being able to go out the house without my mask. I have tried everything from going on different hormon pill. Creams and face washer. Eating healthy, exercise shop bought scar treatment gels, and NOTHING seems to work! I have been bulid for my scars and acne the worst thing that has been said is i look like i have been set on fire! And obviously that tarnished my last shred of confidence! I need something that will work! I'm desperate I'm fed up of crying over this when it should be the nhs's responsibility to stop this problem before it spirals out of control like my case and many other suffererss

Hi im 23 and have had serious acne from age 11, i too have scars. the nhs can inject an antiinflamatory in to the raised scares to make the appearance a little different but wont rid u of the redness. its highly unlikely to think you will get a chemical peel on the nhs its too costly and acne scaring isnt a priority. have you been perscribed zynert? a bit like a bingo pen for your face seemed to work for me for a while but did dry my face out. I am a makeup artist and my advice to you allthough it may not work for everyone is to do 3 things. use sudecrem as a face mask! massage it in to your face and leave it to soak in for as long as you have time (I do overnight) wash off only with water and the redness will have lightened brilliantly, TRY IT. Allso tatoo makeup is allways an option. it is quite heavy so u may find u only use this for special occasions but if you like it you could use it every day providing you put moisture back in to your skin. some tattoo makeup brands can be very expensive but i am aware that argos does one at a reasonable price. i recently had a wedding job and the bride had a huge purple birthmark on her face the tattoo makeup worked a treat on her. allso remember to moisturise! dont think that its bad for acne, it is not. use thin creams that are easily absorbed. have a makeup free day once a week no matter how embarrasing and considder using a sunbed for 6minutes a week this will gradually disguise the redness and dry out the painfull under the skin volcanoes before they have chance to errupt. enjoy!

Hi I'm 20 an I have scars from spots prob not as bad as you but it still lowers my confidence and i found a oil which is meant for scars and stretch marks for pregnant women and also uneven skin and my sister used it to get rid of and prevent stretch marks when she was pregnant and it seem to work for her and I'm now using and I've been using it for about a month now have started to notice a bit of difference it's called bio oil it's orange with a white lid it's a expensive but it starting to work for me you can get it from SuperDrugs or boots place like that :-) hope this helps

I am 21 and have acne scars that are always really red and hard to cover up with makeup. Ive tried all the supermarket spot washes and bio oil to reduce the scars. I need a cream to lighten the scars and a different cream to stop the spots comin back my skin is also very dry and sore at times! Please help i hate it!

If bio oil didn't work then I don't know what to suggest but to stop getting spots go to your doctor and ask for tablets to prevent u gettin spots i use the tablets and they do work just say to the doctor you have used all the creams face washes and all that and the doctor will give you the tablets :-)

I had severe spots for a while and they went away and came back again, they were starting to go away recently and dead skin was left behind, so I used exfoliating gloves and a facewash and now there's this red scar on my face and it looks like a cut, it looks really awful. I have used so many products and creams before and it just seems so hopeless now. I was using teatree oil and it was leaving my face looking very red and dried it up a lot!!(leaving the dead skin behind) Anyone got any advice for this cut ( I have a few actually) But will they heal like when you fall and cut yourself or will this need treatment?
