Hi My skin is dark because I'm originally from Sri Lanka. I am now 25 and I have had this since I was a baby. In Sweden this is of course a rare skin condition but there is special creams brought out just for this condition. I have a very nice and easy version of it because it can really only be seen on my legs with what the woman in the film had but on the rest of my body I'm really dry. I need to apply this cream 1-2 times a day for it not to crack open and stay soft, doesn't hurt or itch. The cream that is specially for this condition is called "Locobase LPL" and so far no dermatologist in England heard of it. I get it from Sweden and it is brilliant. (This Locobase LPL is only a couple of years old and before that I got a mixture with Locobase + Carbamide which worked fine for years but because this Locobase LPL is specially made for people with this condition - why not!)
i have suffered from this all my life and now am 24,does really knock your confidence and used to always get bullied about it at school, so this new method is goin to have to be tried maybe then i can wear shorts and tshirts
i have, what ive told is eczema on my hands. however for many years i have been convinced this is not the case. my hands are "wrinkly" and cracked. I look like i have scales. Very similar to what this girl had on her legs. im 14 now, and have just started my periods if that makes any diffrence? please help me !
I have ichthyosis over my whole body and been using calmurid creme since I was young. This helped to a certain extend, but recently got told by my GP to try out aqueous cream as a body shower gel.. this has made a huge difference no more visible scales. I still use calmurid after every shower but do not need to apply it multiple times a day any more. You can get aqueous cream at drug store. calmurid is available over the counter or on prescription at pharmacys
The cream that was used was Eucerin 10%, it is available from the GP or you can buy it off the shelf in Boots. I have this condition and after years of non helpful moisturisers and scaly legs this is the only thing that works for me and gives me back my confidence. Try Eucerin in Lotion form then if that doesnt help try the cream in a tube. I hope that helps someone out there.
