Video
Dr Christian meets Patricia, a patient who is suffering from bunions, a painful structural displacement of the foot bones. Extreme cases of bunions can be solved with a surgical procedure and in this video we see how corrective keyhole surgery can be a quick and viable option.

Help!!!I've got the big toe on both feet going under my others and hammer toes and crooked toes...Please give me a glimmer of hope that this can be corrected....I have been an aerobic instructor for 30 years, in great shape and would like to teach another 10...Is this possible?
My right big toe is being pulled across due to a bunion but also a ligament is tightening underneath, causing pain in my lower leg (this symptom is, of course, not believed by my GP or podiatrist though a beautician DID agree with me saying that this ligament is linked to a lower leg muscle and that ligaments can tighten with age). Please let us know where to find a surgeon who will do the shown operation which seems to answer my problems. Thank you.
I had my bunion removed November 09 but one of the pins was too long so hurt terribly, I had corrective surgery Feb 2010 and in cast again. my problem is my big toe has drifted back and my second toe is now a hammer toe, painful. I also have pain in my lower leg, it is like shooting pains and it is because the ligament is too tight, since the surgery it is not quite so bad but I have to stretch it before I try to step out of bed. I now have an orthotic in my shoe as I have a fallen arch and it helps a lot. I dont think you will find a surgeon to do the keyhole unless you go private. best wishes let me know how you get on. I have a consultation in July for further surgery but I am not sure I want to muck about anymore.
Having watched the video would like to know where this technique was performed as I'm interested in having same procedure. Would be great to find a web site illustrating all surgical procedures and their pros and cons. Have already been referred via NHS and have been told surgery should solve problem but I'm put off by the length of time I will be out of action.
Is keyhole bunion surgery avaialable on NHS in Cornwall even if the deformity is bad but the pain isn't?
Who was the surgeon that performed the bunions op. Could I have the name?
Micro invasive surgery on bunions is not offered on the NHS in the UK. Other operations will leave screws in feet and cut of bone unneseccary. Why is it, that especially our Orthopeadic Surgeons in Sussex feel threatend and are not prepared to move into the 21 Centuary?! Most GP, talking from own experience, will advise you not to have the bunions operated on.
hi my partner has serious bunnions on both of this feet, jusy like the woman on the video. both of his big toes are behind his other toes. he would like straight toes. he has heard that the surgery could make him unable to walk again is this true?
having seen this programme, I am going to ask my doctor if there is anything that they can do for me. I did have the bone cut away on both feet about 10 years ago but it has grown back and my feel look as ugly as they always did.
Having a bunion myself this information was very useful particularly that it can be corrected with keyhole surgery. Thank you.
IT WAS AMAZING WHAT I SAW. I HAVE GOT BUNIONS AND I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE SAME SURGERY. IF IT IS POSSIBLE HAVE ONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW!I LIVE IN SOUTH LONDON.
