Hi. i am 17 years old and i suffer with a bit of hearing loss in my right ear. All the time i ask people to repeat themselves and when i have my right ear covered, the sound is very restricted and i will not be able to understande what people are saying to me. It just sounds like they are whispering. I have suffered with this for as long as i can remember and i wondered if there is anything i could do.

I am a 30 yr old male.I lost my hearing 10 years ago and the doctors that I have seen have never been able to find out why..I feel completely dissatisfied that nobody will help me as somedays I can hear better than others. I did visit a hearing specialist and he told me I had the hearing loss of a 80 year old man! I have 2 hearing aids but they don't really make a difference but deep down I feel someone out there should be able to help me, It effects my everyday life and my young family I love spending time with my 2 boys but really struggle to hear them!
I am 50 and have had a hearing problems for many years but it bacame savere 4 years ago. I have 2 hearing aids from the NHS. My left ear hearing has now completely gone. I am desperate to find an aid that can help. I did not see the program about the hearing aid but it sounds good. Can you let me know where I can obtain one and what its is called. I am so ashaimed about my hearing loss and I feel very issolated and am concerned that my good ear which isn't great is getting worse.
I am 61 & have loss of good hearing since I was 8 or nine, NHS will not do anything for me as they say I have adequate hearing in the other ear, I have been written off on quite a few times, the last one about 18 months ago. They gave me a hearing aid that just makes the sounds I can hear,'louder'! which I have found to be of no use. My bad hearing causes me sooooooooo many problems & bad feelings as people think I being rude when I cant enter into a conversation. Please please let me know more about this hearing aid.
Hi there I have been diagnosed with a severe hearing loss in one ear and I am ok in the other. This happened in the space of a couple of weeks and was told it was one of those things. I find this very frustrating and isolating. I have got an nhs hearing aid but do not find it helps as it amplifies all other noise and not what I need to hear; the only benefit is that it drowns the tinitus a little. Would it be worth looking at a digital hearing aid?
I have been using a digital hearing aid in my right ear for some years now and do not find it much help. I find I do not need it when talking one to one in a quiet environment and it makes little or no difference where there is background noise. Its main function is to let people know I have a hearing problem! It is a digital aid with four settings which have to be changed manually, one allegedly for a noisy environment. I got the impression that the aid featured in the programme adjusted itself automatically which suggests it is a more advanced model than mine. What are they called and are they available on the NHS? I belong to a professional group which holds regular meetings with a speaker. The topics are normally quite technical but I find myself missing the point because I am spending most of the time trying to work out the words being used rather than what is being said. This is especially bad when it comes to questions and answers; I often hear the answer but not the question. Most meetings are so stressful I do not enjoy them and have difficulty refraining from snapping at people. I notice there are lots of questions on the forum but have yet to find an answer; do you ever post answers? I appreciate that you cannot reply to individual questions but an open answer to popular questions would be a big help.

I found the programme interesting and would like to know if this hearing device is available through the NHS. If not where can they be obtained (product name) and what is the cost?
Where can you go to get a real specialist I went to my doctor with the same symptoms as on the programme, and my doctor gave me a hearing test, and refered me to a specialist who done the same things as the doctor and I ended up with 2 very large earing aids and I still cannot hear very well.
Can you advise where you obtain these hearing aids and what sort of costs are involved. Would you have to be referred by your GP, I have already been on the waiting list for my area for a year or so.
