i am 20, i am not sure if acne is what iv got but for 3-4 years now have had spots, some with white heads, appear on my upper back, chest and on my scalp, and small white spots that appear around my eyes, previous doctors believed it was associated with my high tryglyceride levels, the spots itch and cause alot of pain when picked or squeezed, please help. Thanks.

Hi I am of Caribbean decent and have extremely bad dark acne scars all over my face I did visit my gp a few years ago when it was nowhere near as bad and was told there was nothing they could do for scarring the prescriptions would only manage the actual spots I've tried aloe vera, bio oil etc to no avail I try to cover it up with make up but I've got such sensitive skin I think this may be just adding to the problem so I'm fighting a losing battle I'm getting to the point where I don't want to leave the house what can I do?? thought about microdermabrasion or even more drastic facial peel!!

To prevent scarring, I find that using something like Bio Oil at night time is good. I also find that applying a non-oily moisturiser that contains Aloe after washing my face (preferrably with SPF) is quite good too, As it forms a protective layer to "deflect" bacteria. (I'm not sure if this works for everyone, but I have a mixture of oily/dry skin.)
